Khawaja Junaid - Legends of Hockey
Written by PHF

Named player of the tournament in the 94 version of the Champions Trophy, Khawaja Junaid served Pakistan Hockey rather well for nearly a decade at left-half.

Junaid was scion of a hockey family, with father Khawaja Mohammad Aslam being a former Olympian while a coupe of his brothers too represented the country at various levels.

Lean but athletic, Junaid knew exactly what was required of him as a left-half. His sliding left tackles something he had picked up from his European counterparts, were very effective and a treat to watch. Cool and intelligent, he served the cause of Pakistan hockey with hard work, diligence and shared the spoils.
